OREGON, USA — Election Day is coming up fast, and the deadline to register is coming up even faster. Oct. 13 is the last day you can register to vote in the 2026 election this November.
In Oregon, you can register entirely online through the Oregon Secretary of State's website. You must meet the following qualifications to register:
- You must be a U.S. citizen
- You must be a resident of Oregon
- You must be at least 16 years old.
Minors between ages 16 and 18 can register to vote, but won't get a ballot until the next election after their 18th birthday.
To register online, you'll need to provide an Oregon driver's license or an ID card number issued by the state DMV. If you don't have one of those, you'll need to provide the last four digits of your social security number and your signature.
You can still register online even if you don't have any of the above options. Enter the information that you do have, and the website will provide a PDF of your voter registration card. Print that card, sign it and then mail or deliver it to your county elections office.
If you don't want to register online, you can print and fill out a voter registration form and deliver it to your county elections office.
Visit the MyVote website to confirm whether or not you're registered, check your registration information and see the status of your ballot.
Important Election Dates
Oct. 13, 2026 — Last day to register to vote
Oct. 14, 2026 — First day ballots mailed out to voters
Nov. 3, 2026 — Election Day
- County elections office is open at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m. Ballots must be returned to official drop sites before 8 p.m.
- Mail-in ballots must be postmarked by election day
Dec. 10, 2026 — Final results certified
Remember, Election Day is the last day for any voter to return their ballot. You can return your ballot to any drop box location, directly to your county elections office or mail it in. Ballots that are mailed in must be postmarked by Election Day and received within seven days. USPS delivery times can vary, so it's a good idea to return your ballot early if you're planning to vote by mail.
Ballots can be filled out and submitted at any time either by mailing them back or by dropping them in one of Oregon's ballot drop boxes. An online drop box locator tool will be available starting 21 days before the election. Voters can track the status of their submitted ballots through MyVote.
